The Whitney is Coming Downtown!

By Yehudit Mam, April 24, 2015

Where it belongs.

We are looking forward to exactly one week from now, May 1, when the museum opens its doors downtown, looking out to the Hudson River, abutting the despicably gentrified Meatpacking (where’s the beef?) district, and anchoring our beloved High Line.  In anticipation of the opening, here are some of our favorite gems from the Whitney’s collection:

Cándida Álvarez: Nueva York.

George Bellows: Dempsey and Firpo.

Man Ray: La Fortune.

Cindy Sherman: Untitled Film Still #45

And so many more treasures of modern and contemporary American art… We are so happy that the Whitney is now closer to home.
